TO: All Interested Parties
FROM: Ricky L. Clark, Jr., City Manager
CC: Mayor Joy B. Day & City Council
DATE: March 11, 2020
SUBJECT: Cancellation of St. Patrick’s Day Event
To limit the exposure of the coronavirus (COVID-19) within our community and to protect our
employees, citizens and stakeholders, we have made the unfortunate decision to cancel the St. Patrick’s
Day Event originally scheduled for March 17th
. We are taking this extraordinary step based upon what is
currently known about the transmission and severity of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Our local officials are committed to ensuring that as a community, we remain vigilant and provide timely
information to our citizens. This is a difficult decision, as we know many of you have been looking
forward to this annual event; however, our top priority remains with the health and well-being of all
those involved with the event. While there have been no confirmed cases within our community, we are
urging everyone to follow the guidelines and protocols put forth by public health officials.
I would like to reiterate that the safety and wellbeing of our community is a primary goal for City
Officials. We would like to thank our staff for their continued professionalism and dedication to serving
and protecting our community.
Respectfully Submitted, I am,
Ricky L. Clark, Jr.
