Public Meeting:
All residents are invited to attend a Public Meeting to offer their input on the proposed Broad Street Plaza Project. The Broad Street Plaza project is anticipated to stimulate new activity in the downtown core and serve as a linchpin in the revitalization of the entire block between Broad Street and Riley Way. The vision for this project is to reinforce downtown Jonesboro with the addition of a purposeful outdoor civic space that can serve as a “destination”, similar to those created in recent years for other revitalized cities in the Atlanta region.
Over the past few
months, City Officials have worked to attain ownership of all properties just
south of the Firehouse Museum on West Mill Street, including the parking lot adjacent
to Church Street. The City will demolish those buildings to provide an area
boasting a linear green space. All utilities on Broad Street and the
surrounding area will be placed underground to enhance the ambiance of the
area.
The Public Meeting
will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Jonesboro Firehouse Museum
located at 103 West Mill Street. For additional information, please contact
