The City of Jonesboro, from its roots as The Gone With the Wind City to the home of the new Lee Street Park, is revitalizing and reenergizing its brand. The City officially kicked off the initiative in December 2016. With the goal to promote economic growth while encouraging pride in our community and adding to our rich history as The Jewel of the Southern Crescent. The Jonesboro brand message is aimed at businesses, developers, residents and visitors who can bring in revenue and help us to improve and strengthen our great city.
As one of the Jonesboro's Mayor & Council strategic goals, our hope is that the substantial rebranding initiative will assist with helping to develop the identity of Jonesboro. The final product of this initiative, our brand, will be used to promote Jonesboro’s businesses, recruit new investment, and contribute to the sense of pride that residents have of their home town.
The City has been without an official logo for quite some while and we feel that with the overall advances that we are making, it is perfect timing to institute our official logo. The City’s brand provides the foundation for all communications and differentiates it from all other agencies, organizations, and entities. The brand also cultivates civic pride by associating the community with a unique identity or concept expressing the City’s characteristics and goals. The rebranding process incorporates several phases of activity: community engagement, market research and data analysis, and creation of the brand, including a motto and logo. To assist in establishing a successful plan, a rebranding subcommittee will be formed with local stakeholders, designers and staff.
To ensure that we have substantial input from our stakeholders, we ask that you take a brief moment to complete our rebranding survey. Data collected in this survey will be used to develop a cohesive marketing and branding strategy that will look to leverage the city's unique assets and position Jonesboro as a special place.
Branding is a valuable tool whether you are a private business or a public entity, like a city. Creating and maintaining a brand for Jonesboro will enable us to establish ourselves as a leader in quality of life standards for our residents and a destination for tourists, celebrate our uniqueness from surrounding southern crescent cites, and create momentum for developing and doing business in Jonesboro. The return on taxpayer dollars being invested in this effort will be evident as we continue to improve and provide exceptional service in Jonesboro.
