CALLED COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

MAY 13, 2009

AMENDED

The City of Jonesboro Mayor and Council held a Called Council meeting for the purposes of a Suspension Hearing and Executive Session, on Tuesday, May 13^th, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. The meeting was held at 170 South Main Street Jonesboro.

Council Present: Luther Maddox, Mayor

Clarence Mann, Councilmember

Roger Grider, Councilmember

Billy Powell, Councilmember

Rick Yonce, Councilmember

Bobby Wiggins, Councilmember

Wallace Norrington, Councilmember

Staff Present: Janice Truhan and Chief Brad Johnson

Mayor Maddox called the meeting to order.

The Hearing for Chief Brad Johnson ensued. Present were Chief Johnson’s attorney Keith Martin, and the City of Jonesboro attorney, Steve Fincher of Fincher, Denmark and Williams LLC. Discussion ensued. The opposing Council requested that Mayor Luther Maddox be relieved of ‘Chair’, in order to give testimony. Councilmember Yonce, as Mayor Pro Tem, was called to serve as ‘Chair’ during the process. Mayor Maddox was questioned and gave testimony and Chief Johnson also was questioned and gave testimony. The hearing was closed.

The Council considered the following items 1 - 3 on the Agenda:

1. Considered motion to enter Executive Session. Approved. [Motion: Grider, 2^nd:

Norrington, Vote: Unanimous].

2. Considered motion to resume Regular Meeting. Approved [Motion: Grider, 2^nd:

Norrington, Vote: Unanimous].

3. Considered motion to adjourn. Approved. [Motion: Grider, 2^nd: Mann, Vote:

Unanimous].
