CALLED COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

SEPTEMBER 25, 2009

 

 

The City of Jonesboro Mayor and Council held a Called Council meeting for the purposes of Executive Session to discuss legal matters; to vote on matters discussed in Executive Session and to discuss and consider amending the City Livestock Ordinance. The meeting was held at 170 South Main Street  Jonesboro.

 

Council Present:       Luther Maddox, Mayor

                                    Clarence Mann, Councilmember

                                    Roger Grider, Councilmember

                                    Billy Powell, Councilmember

                                    Rick Yonce, Councilmember

                                    Bobby Wiggins, Councilmember

                                    Wallace Norrington, Councilmember

 

Staff Present:    Administrative Assistant Pat Daniel, Interim Chief Tim Jessup, Public Works Director Joe Nettleton, and Code Enforcement Officer Charles Carpenter.

 

Mayor Maddox called the meeting to order. 

 

The Council considered the following items 1 - 6 on the Agenda:

 

1.   Considered motion to enter Executive Session. Approved.  [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Mann,

      Vote: Unanimous].

 

2.    Considered motion to resume Regular Meeting.  Approved. [Motion: Mann, 2nd: Norrington,

      Vote: Unanimous]

 

3.    Considered motion to authorize Counsel to offer settlement for issue discussed in

       Executive Session. Approved.  [Motion: Norrington, 2nd: Grider, Vote: Unanimous].

 

4.    Considered amending Livestock Ordinance.  Discussion ensued. Motion made to postpone

       action on Ordinance for sixty (60) days.  Approved. [Motion: Norrington, 2nd: Grider, Vote:

       Unanimous].

 

5.    Considered Motion to adjourn.  Approved.  [Motion: Norrington, 2nd: Mann, Vote:

       Unanimous].
