Hello and welcome to the Chief of Police section of the City of Jonesboro’s website.
Being new to Jonesboro, I felt it was important to share a bit of information about myself. I was born and raised in Griffin Georgia. I began my law enforcement career with the Spalding County Sheriff's Department in 1981. Over my 28 year career I have served as Patrolman, Patrol Supervisor, Narcotics Investigator, Criminal Investigator and Crime Scene Specialist. I worked for the Lake City Police Department from 1995 to 2002 and served as Chief Investigator. From 2002 to 2005 I was Captain of the Criminal Investigative Division of the Spalding County Sheriff's Department. Most recently I have served, for the past 4 1/2 years, as Chief of Police for the City of Grantville in Coweta County.
I graduated from Gordon College with an AA degree in Psychology, Georgia State University with a BS in Criminal Justice, and from Columbus State University with an MPA in Public Administration. I am also a graduate of the Georgia Law Enforcement Command College, Georgia Chief's Association - Chief Executive training, International Association of Chiefs of Police - Leadership in Police Organization, and the Southern Police Institute. I also hold Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training Council certifications in Supervision, Management, and Executive Development as well as several other instructor certifications.
I am married to Lesa Allen and have two children who are 16 year old twins Daniel and Annalee Allen.
I am very excited for the opportunity to serve as Chief of Police for the City of Jonesboro and look forward to meeting all of the Citizen's. If anyone should have a problem or concern, please feel free to contact me at the Police department.
