CALLED COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

October 12, 2007

 

 

A Called Meeting was held at 5:00 p.m. on October 12th, 2007 at Jonesboro Police Station 170 South Main Street Jonesboro.

 

Attendees:       Joy B. Day - Mayor   

                        Rick Yonce – Councilmember

                        Linda Wenz - Councilmember

                        Clarence Mann - Councilmember

                        Bobby Wiggins – Councilmember

                        Roger Grider - Councilmember

 

Staff Present:  Janice Truhan – City Clerk, Joe Nettleton – Public Works Director, Chief Wayne Rowland – Chief of Police

 

Meeting was called to order by Mayor Day.  Council considered the following business:

 

1.  Consider motion to amend April 09, 2007 minutes, to add statements made during

discussion regarding the Firehouse Museum budget. [Motion: Wiggins, 2nd: Grider, Vote: Unanimous].

 

2.  Consider approval of Faith Tabernacle of the Holy Spirit Thanksgiving dinner at the

     Firehouse Museum  103 West Mill Street. Discussion made by Councilmember

     Wiggins that there is concern as to the many artifacts in the facility and stated that.

     Pastor Steed also felt that Firehouse #13 would be appropriate.[ Motion: Yonce, 2nd: 

     Vote:  Unanimous.

 

3.  Consider Motion to approve lease, financed by G.M.A., for purchased Sanitation

truck. [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Mann, Vote: yes – Grider, Mann, Wiggins, Yonce: no – Wenz, Mayor Day].

 

Mayor Day called for a Motion to adjourn.  [Motion: Grider, 2nd: Wenz,  Vote:  Unanimous.]
