PUBLIC HEARING - MILLAGE MINUTES

October 01, 2007

The City of Jonesboro held the second in a series of three Public Hearings regarding the annual Millage rate for 2007 at 124 North Avenue.  Mayor Joy Day declared the meeting open at 2:00 p.m.

The following Councilmember’s were present:

                                                Bobby Wiggins

Staff Present:     Sandra Meyers – Finance Officer, and Janice Truhan – City Clerk

No attendees from the Public were present.

Sandra Meyers stated that there was $200,000. in projected property tax revenues.  This millage was not set until 2007 budget in regard to estimated revenues. The property Tax billed was issued late, as Mr. Hall stated, have hurt revenues. We are not meeting projected revenues. Janice suggested that City Hall staff send letters on outstanding property taxes prior to placing liens.  Sandra stated that one letter has been issued.

Mayor Day asked if there was any discussion or concerns. Mr. Wiggins?  Just trying to understand it.

Mayor Day adjourned the hearing at 2:24 p.m.
